I am going to Vegas with my husband next month for his work conference. It is taking place at Caesars and even with the discounted rate it is looking like $1200 for 3 nights We were really needing to stay under $700 so we can have some spending money for shows, dinner etc. Does anyone have any cheaper alternatives that are also close to CP so he can commute for all the conference events?
We wont even be spending much time in the room so I just want something clean and newer if possible. I had looked and the Paris seems nice but I dont know anyone thats been. I have been following some other threads on things to do and you had some great recs! Thanks!!
Which dates are you thinking of? That's expensive for Las Vegas, though room rates vary so much based on time of year and what's going on at that time. If we knew the dates, we could look on Kayak and tell you what's good and in your budget then.

It would be Nov 13-16th. That would be awesome if you could give me some advice thank you!

If Kayak is telling the truth, you have a bunch of awesome hotels to choose from --
Vdara (a 5-star, non-smoking, doesn't have a casino but is next to casinos) is $500 with tax
Aria is $739 -- also 5-star
Worth calling Palazzo and Venetian -- they don't show up in Kayak
If you can stretch your budget a bit, Cosmopolitan would be $804
In the four-star world, Treasure Island is in your budget (but I'd definitely pick Vdara over it), as is the Mandalay Bay, and Paris.
That's the weekend of the Las Vegas marathon which is why hotels are more expensive than usual. The marathon is on the 17th so the good news is that you'll be gone before any major road closures.
Cosmo is still a 15 minute walk to Casears. Just keep that in mind if you plan to stay there (or Vdarra/Aria, which would = an even longer walk). Flamingo, Harrah's and Ballys are right across the street. Check out the rates for the "Go" rooms at Flamingo, those are upgraded and on the nicer side. If you want something nice but don't want to shell out the cash, I'd try bidding on a 5 star north strip on priceline. I think the only 5* north strip hotels on PL are Wynn, Encore, Palazzo and Venetian so no matter what you'd end up with an awesome hotel. Just keep in mind that it's still a bit of a walk to Caesars. Nothing that isn't doable, but still about 10-15 minutes depending on the hotel.
ETA: Everything looks really close on a map but it can take a long time to walk just a few blocks.
