Our new SW was here to meet the baby. She told me mom didn't go to rehab as expected. She also told me that the family members who wanted the baby backed out and that she wouldn't consider moving him unless they were approved ASAP.

I sort of pressed the issue, mentioning I wanted to be prepared if he was staying through the holidays. I mentioned not knowing if I should get him a Halloween costume and she basically told me I should!

Then, she asked me if we were open to a long -term or permanent placement! I was stunned. I had no idea that was a possibility. You just never know what is going to happen in fostercare land. ::insert totally shocked face ::

bluedaisyus - I know! There were all these family members who said they wanted to get approved to take him. One failed,one backed out and no one else has started the process . It's sad that they would rather a stranger care for him :-(

seattlekari -such a surprise! Mom was all set to go to rehab and then the baby was going to go to her if the progran approved it. She never showed. She can still go and she can still try to get approval,I think. We'll see what happens. I am being very cautious,guarding my heart. I am not sure what he will be. I am so excited to get a tiny baby costume though!

What a crazy loop to be thrown for. If he's small, I vote for that peapod costume.
