How old was your kid when you started dropping them off at the gym's childcare room (if your gym has one) before your workout? I find myself pondering this today because the weather is crappy but yet I actually feel like working out. Problem is, J's at work and my parents watched AJ yesterday so I could go pound bloody marys at a golf tournament, thus I don't feel right asking them to watch him so I can go work out. I think my gym's child care will take kids as young as 6 weeks (AJ is 11 weeks) but I don't know how I feel about having him go be around a bunch of random kids with random illnesses since he's still pretty little.
If I'm being irrational, please tell me so. I can take it
Wow, 6 weeks? Mine started at 6 months, and is very limited in what they'll do, e.g., no diaper change or feeding.
Honestly, I don't think I'd take a 6-week old there, because of the illness concerns. 11 weeks, where you are, is still iffy. I'd ask the gym about how often they clean, too. Regular daycares sanitize every day, so how about there?
Love of my life baby boy born 11/11. One and done not by choice; 3 years of TTC yielded 4 MMC and 2 CPs, through 4 IUIs and 2 IVFs. Focusing on making the world a better place instead...and running.

I understand you iffyness. I take my daughters(2) to the YMCA and I still spaz about germs. Once in a while I will see a little baby and some is almost always holding them. I asked them when I started. They bleach clean and spray lysol after each shift (there are at least 4 hours between shifts, so no one risks having lysol on them.) It made me feel better. But then again. Mine are older.
I started taking her as soon as she was allowed, which was 6 months. Now we are at a new gym and they take them at 6 weeks. The babies have their own little room separate from the toddler/preschool snotmonsters and it is quiet and from what I can tell, clean. But to be honest though, I'd have a hard time leaving a 6 weeker. I'd say I'd probably take my hypothetical baby at 12 weeks.
