Is there any difference between colored eggs and brown eggs? The lady that sells them have both for the same price, but I don't know which ones to pick.
The color of the egg depends on the breed of the chicken, and all chicken eggs are essentially the same. The important difference is in the health of the hen laying the egg.
Factory chickens live miserable lives in tiny cramped cages, in filth, and in almost perpetual darkness. These unhealthy, highly stressful environments produce unhealthy chickens, who in turn produce almost flavorless eggs with pale yolks and watery whites.
Chickens in robust good health, living outdoors on grass, hunting for bugs, in sunshine and fresh air, produce eggs that are better tasting, and better for you, regardless of the color of the shell.

Thanks! I am really excited about this. It's a little old Mennonite woman who is really into organic gardening and raising chickens. She isn't trying to turn large profits. I'm hoping once our renovations are over to start raising our own chickens.
