I finished Insurgent this weekend, and I liked it a lot better than I liked Divergent. This installment of the story wasn't as annoyingly predictable as the first book.
I liked them both for different reasons. The first one was kind of predictable but I liked the character development and thought she did a good job laying the foundation of the story The second one was less predictable and I love that it wasn't just a "filler" book as some 2nd books in trilogies are. It actually moved the plot along and was interesting. I kind of thought that Tris and Tobias were whiny in Insurgent, though, so I am hoping for less internal drama and more romance in the 3rd book.

Insurgent was definitely better than Divergent. It was all fast paced, and I loved how they added more romance. ETA: For the third book, I hope they get married.

Ditto. Divergent started off slowly for me, where Insurgent moved faster, but had more annoying relationship angst. I'm looking forward to the third book.

I also agree that Insurgent was the better of the two books. I liked that the plot was fast paced from the beginning and I actually enjoyed the relationship angst. It made the characters seem more real to me.

ditto all of this. I have no new thoughts to share. I just finished it 2 days ago.
I definitely liked Insurgent better too but did anyone else feel the need to read Divergent again before Insurgent? I couldn't remember how it left off and took me a while to really get back into it. This is the only thing I dislike about reading installments. I need to wait for it all to be released otherwise the months in between books really kill me. Some times I read so many books I forget which is which.

Yes, I think I'll read both of them again before the third one comes out.
