We will be there the week of American Thanksgiving for 3 days. Staying @ a hotel downtown thanks to a gift card. I haven't been up there in over a decade & DH has never been. We are driving but plan on taking public transit as much as possible. I am a huge hockey fan & plan on doing the hall of fame. I also know there is a Christmas market that will be going on that we plan to hit up; DH is VERY excited about the beer garden! Besides that, other recs? We are nerdy types, like cultural stuff & just exploring random/off beat places. I know there is a huge Tamil community (DH is Tamil) & we plan on chowing down on that (I'm the veg, DH ironically isn't) but other veg friendly places? Thanks!
I was there recently and we mainly just walked around. That's usually our favorite way to explore any area. The distillery district is neat and we enjoyed a brewery there called Mill Street Brewing. We only had an appetizer but it was pretty good. There's also a pretty fabulous chocolate shop across the street. We also walked around Chinatown and Kensington Market.
St. Lawrence Market was heaven to me. So much food to admire.
The Loose Moose is a bar downtown we really loved. The food we had was excellent, though their veggie choices seem limited, and the decor is really interesting.
The only other memorable restaurant we went to was 3 Brewers.
I realize most of my recommendations aren't much help if you don't like beer!
We went over to the islands on the ferry one day and really liked being able to get out of the city and explore nature so quickly. I'm not sure if it will be too cold for that while you're there.
