I made a set of canvases for my guestroom, they are 18"x24" stretched canvas. I'll respond with pictures from my phone in a sec.
I've had a lot of people ask if I could make them some but don't know how much to charge. Of course I would need to cover my expenses and make a profit (small at least), but I don't want to over charge.
I could do different sizes and number of canvases. So tell me:
Would you buy something like this? How much would you pay per canvas? How much would you pay for a set?
I wouldn't personally buy them since I could make my own, but if I were to buy them I think $20/canvas or $50/set of three would be a reasonable price. From a quick Amazon search it looks like you can buy the canvases for about $9, so you'd still make some profit if the paint's not too expensive.
I guess it depends on what you mean by "a lot of people" asked for them. If we're talking friends, I'd charge them materials and gift the labor. They're probably cute in your guest room, I just have a hard time imagining there being a big enough market to think too hard about profit. I'm not sure how you made them, but they remind me of some of Katie Bower's frog tape project posts.
Honestly I would not buy those because I can tell at a glance how to make them and I would do it myself.
I think it depends on how many people are interested. I don't see them being a big seller, not because they aren't cool but because they are a simple project that is all over Pinterest. I am not trying to be harsh just honest. If a friend wants a set I would do them and charge materials plus a few bucks - if it costs you $15 I would charge $25 for example.
They weren't hard, at all, but the people that are asking are people that my parent's know (church, school, etc) but aren't really friends of theirs or mine so I don't want to gift my time.
May I ask how people you don't know saw your guestroom? haha
My mother showed them a picture after it was done because she liked it and they asked what I had been up to. These are people from her church or school she teaches at mainly, so they know of me.
She made the curtains and we put the room together in 48 hours, she was proud of how it turned out.
Before of free lamps. Afters of the lamps and nightstand.
I'll try to take pics of the room tonight.
We were surprised with a visit from T's brother with 2 days notice. The room was empty when he called. I spent about $200 when it was all said and done.
I'd also go probably 20.00 above the cost of materials. I would consider buying them if they were my color and style, but I also don't "do" crafty stuff myself very often, so I'm willing to pay. And where I live, no one gives a damn about Pinterest or blogs...so in some places you may have the one up.

You live in a very similar area population-wise as I do, no one does the internet out here and even fewer do crafty stuff themselves.

That's a great room to pull together so fast. I especially like the rescued lamps. I would charge enough above the materials cost to make it worth your while.
