So once you've had it once it comes back? Sharp, stabby pain anytime you breathe or move any part of your upper body? Nooooooo! I don't want it to come back ever again! How long does it usually take to heal? The information they gave me said up to six weeks, which is kind of freaking me out. Especially if it could come back again. Is there anything in particular you've found that helps at all, outside of the ordinary anti-inflammatory and resting?
It's definitely a relief, even though it hurts, because the Dr was talking about blood clots and I will take some inflammation over a blood clot in my heart any day of the week.

Yep, that's the one. For me it's mostly stress related. I once had an attack while driving and it scared the ever living shit out of me. I took up running for a while to increase lung capacity and it helped. Other than that it's just rest and NSAIDs as I need them.
Thank you. It is definitely good to know that it could come back again, so I don't end up going to the ER again for no good reason. Have you ever tried icing it? I can't decide whether that would be dumb and pointless, or might help calm it down.

Actually I haven't, but that's mostly because I am crippled for half an hour and don't want to move from a comfortable position until it passes. It is so unbelievably painful when it happens ugh.
Oh no. I'm sorry that you have to deal with this on a regular basis! This is no fun at all. It's been going on full strength for about seven hours now. It will calm down for a couple of minutes, but then flare back up as soon as I make any sort of movement or adjustment.
