I like that Bastianich is actually human with them. The kids are very impressive. I can't stand the stupid giant plastic bow headband the one girl wears and she wasn't very nice to her partner this week.

The kids are amazing!  I love seeing the softer, more humorous sides of the men.

I thought the kids were going to be really annoying, but my DVR recorded it, so I watched it. I'm really impressed with how good they are. *I* can't cook as well as these kids.

I think a lot of kid competition shows have a hard time eliminating or criticizing them and not make them seem too immature to handle it. When they look too immature to handle it, it makes their skill and talent less impressive. X-Factor is a good example. These guys though, when the kids mess up or have a problem, they step in and say something like "Hey. Deep breath. You can fix this. Let's go." and it makes the kids seem all the more impressive. The cake episode was really good at this.
