We are going to be staying in Holbox (an island North of Cancun), Mexico for five days in February before heading to a wedding in Cancun & are looking for things to do while staying there. We will probably get antsy after a few days so we are looking for fun suggestions of things to do/things to check out while there? Thanks so much!!
We are here right now! DH is sleeping so I'm killing some time on here. We went to Isla Mujeres yesterday and that was fun. You can rent a golf cart and drive all over the island. We also went to the turtle farm. The water and beaches were gorgeous. Had lunch at Mango Cafe and it was really good. We went on a catamaran from our hotel but you can take a ferry from Cancun as well.
I've heard Tulum is incredible. Definitely doing that next time!

We also went to Isla Mujeres, it was fun. Good snorkeling and just a fun laid back town that is not overrun with tourists and development. It's a bit further away but you could always do a day trip down to the ruins of Tulum. And a bit further but more expansive and impressive are the ruins of Coba which are not visited by many tourists when compared with Tulum or Chichen Itza. Right in Cancun there are "mini" ruins-called El Rey (they're right off of the Hotel Zone, down a flight of steps if I remember). And if you and your h are museum people at all, there's a pretty decent archeology museum right along the Hotel Zone too.
Isla Mujeres is great! We went recently for a week and loved it. It's an easy under 30 min ferry ride.
Tulum is also amazing. We didn't make it there earlier this year, but I went when I was a kid, and I understand they've done a lot of restoration since then, making it even better.
