I thought last night's episode was much better than the past two. I never relly liked Tara either. I get it, she's mad that Sookie and Lafayette chose to turn her into a vampire but what is she really doing? I'm sure Pam will come and save her.
I thought it was interesting how Eric made Pam.
I'm kind of confused about the whole Authority storyline.
I get that Roman and his council are for mainstreaming the vamps. The Sanguinistas (SP?) are not for mainstreaming (hence Russell Edgington).
So is Nora really a Sanguinista, or did she just say she was to protect Eric?
I feel like I'm missing something in the storyline. I think both Eric and Bill are for mainstreaming (or at least not going to do anything against it), so why doesn't the authoirty believe them? And why did that one chick have sex with all of them?
I thought the whole Jason scene with his former teacher was just weird.

What I'm getting from it (because I'm confused too) is that because Nora is sanguinista (I think she really is - I think I remember Erik saying something about that), they automatically suspect Erik and Bill since she was trying to help them escape.
Plus, their numerous choices that went against the Authority and killing Nan - it's making the Authority suspicious to their motives.
The woman slept w/ them to try and really determine where they stand. And for either to actually be shocked that she slept w/ both of them... Come on.
Perhaps someone else might have better insight, though!
I am also very confused with the Authority storyline. How could anyone suspect Bill of being against mainstreaming?? And why did the Authority do that weird blood ritual and keep on talking about Lilith and the Vampire bible if their main goal is mainstreaming? That all seems like what the Sanguinistas should be doing since the story of Lilith in the bible is that God created vampire first and then man for vampire.
I also don't get the Salome character and why she slept with them. It didn't help her get any more information. I think it's just to fill up some sexy time with the main guy characters. The storyline and writing sucks so far this season for sure.

Exactly. I was wondering who this group was. Are they all pomp and circumstance and SEEM like the Authority when they really aren't... I could not figure that out.
Yeah - the writing could be a little better so that we're not so confuzzled!
I didn't like Tara before she was a vampire and I don't like her any better now.
I'm still pissed that they did this and missed out on TONS of story line in the books.
Yeah, I really feel like this season is not going to be anywhere close to the 5th book. I don't really mind straying from the books just because they are their own stories (and the books are just....... different) but it's way too much change. Although I did laugh at the "Tracy's Togs"
That said, I'm hoping the season gets good. I feel like there is potential.
Hasn't Alan Ball said, like a million times, "Hey, the series isn't going to be exactly like the books"?
Yes. BUT, the show has pretty much followed the books decently so far. I mean, it's really different, but the ideas are the same. This is a HUGE difference from the book that changes a lot of things. It's really NBD, but it still stinks.
This, the plot of the other seasons has basically remained the same. This doesn't have anything to do with the 5th book. As a mom of twins, I need me some Tara and JB twins!

I have not read the books, but what is JB? Tara's twin in the books?
Also, I was really hoping that once Tara became a vampire she'd stop being so annoying and might actually become kind of cool, but I'm not impressed so far. Maybe Pam will whip her in shape.
