Waimea Canyon: pictures

I'm so glad I asked for info about Waimea Canyon and took the time to see it while in Kauai last week. Here is my blog post with pictures if anyone is interested! I loved it up there and wish I could have spent more time staring at the views.

Thanks for sharing! I lived in Hawaii for 3 years and Waimea Canyon was my most favorite place on all of the islands. I loved it there. btw, we stayed at that Marriott when we went to Kauai. It was an awesome hotel and a great price.

TFS! We're going in December with MIL, SIL and two small kids. We definitely want to drive up there and see the views and I got a good sense of how long it takes and what there is to see from your post. Glad you went, even though your husband wasn't interested in going.

I'm so glad you went by yourself! I think I've said it in every post about Kauai, but I fell in love with that island. We went in March and I feel like it's a place where I'd be happy going back to many times.

It looks like you had a wonderful time! I love Waiamea. We stop at the Marriot to use their beach every time we've been to Kauai. I agree it's less private, and not as quaint as some of the other hotels down by Poipu. However, it's a fairly protected/safe beach, with decent waves. There's also a lot to do right in that area. Happy you had fun!

I'm sure he would have enjoyed it but just not on this trip. Going by myself was a much better idea. He said Kauai took over as his favorite island (Maui is now second place) so I'm sure we will return. Maybe I can convince him then!

Thanks for posting...looks amazing! On our first trip to Kauai for our honeymoon we did not go to Waimea Canyon and that was one of my regrets! We are going back to Kauai this August and are definitely going this time around!

Great pictures! I was LOL throughout your post, it was fun to read. We plan on heading to Kauai in November and I can't wait to see Waimea Canyon!
