I'm wondering what your experience was. Were the hotels or times you had to go poor? Can anyone tell me exactly how it works? I'm looking at one where they say you can travel anywhere from January 2014 to April 2014 and I'd want to go in April. But I don't find out whats available until I pay for it right? And its on the airline they negotiate-I can't pick my own times or preferred carrier?
We are about to go on a Groupon trip to dubai. The trip itself if through Gate 1 travel. You need to read the details of the trip closely. Some will let you use your own airline, some won't to get the deal price.
Which trip is this?

Also you should be able to find out the dates ahead of time. We had a series of dates to pick from before we hit purchase and then used the groupon code to book with Gate 1.

We have used Travelzoo to go to Ireland but have seen the same tour company with deals on sites like Groupon and Living Social.
I wouldn't book unless you are given the names of hotels prior to booking and can review them on tripadvisor.
That said, our entire 8 day trip in Ireland with hotel, rental car and direct flights, was less than the price of buying the flight outright from the airline.

I am looking at this in groupon site. It says it is through great value vacations at 8004954903. I would call them directly.

I used a Groupon to go to Ireland. Mine too was hotel, car and airfare for less than the price of the airfare outright. And we stayed at the Ritz-Carlton in Enniskerry so...anyhow it was an amazing trip and a great deal.
Ours was all about the tour company. Basically after you buy the Groupon you call them up and book and then it's a done deal through the company. Super easy to book and while we got to pick our days we did not get to pick our flight times or airline (though Aer Lingus is not a bad airline at least for flying to and from the States). I have no complaints about any of it (except maybe traveling with my mother which I may never do again).
