I liked Veronica Blushing tutorial on her blog. I use it the way she recommended. Spray my part around my face and the under the top layer of hair. That's it.
I just spray it where there is oil in my hair -- usually on the part and in the front, sometimes around the ears-- then I just comb in through my hair. I put off buying it for a long time because I had no idea how to use it, but it's really easy and works really well. I have the Suave Keratin dry shampoo and the Oribe dry shampoo. I like the Suave much more than the Oribe even though I don't love the way the Suave smells. Batiste was recommended on the F&B board so I plan to try that one next.

I typically use the powder and rub it in at the roots followed by brushing it through. I do this to get rid of oily roots. I'll also use it right after washing on dry hair to rough it up a little and make it easier to style. This helps with fly aways in my very fine hair. I like using it before bed the most because it tends to work while I sleep and I wake up with less oily hair that's more manageable.
I prefer to use it at night before bed. I use the powders instead of the spray and put it along my part and throughout the top/front of my hair. Then I rub it a little and leave it overnight. It gets soaked up overnight and I'm good to go in the morning.
I spray it on clean hair at the crown right after blowdrying to make it really big (b/c I like big hair) and give it some "grab" if I'm putting it up. My hair is really slick and I have a hard time with ponytails and other updos sliding out. Then the next morning I fluff it up a little with the blowdryer on warm.
I find that if I spray dry shampoo on 2nd day hair it just looks dirtier, but if I put it on clean hair it looks fresher longer.
