So DD is sick and I have a billion things to get done, but I am home with her. Ok, it sucks, but after all, we did move to this country for DH's job, not mine, and if someone has to rearrange her schedule when DD gets sick, it's me. I'm a little stressed wondering whether she'll still be sick tomorrow and wondering how I will get a whole week's worth of work done if so, but again, I make my own schedule and it's easier for me to make up lost time than for DH to do so with his bosses, clients, and umpteen meetings.
However, I FINALLY booked a babysitter for us for this Thursday eve, after much searching and hand-wringing and whatnot. This would be our first real date since we got here 5.5 months ago, and it's just two days before we go on our anniversary trip vacation with DD in tow (when DD was originally supposed to stay in Paris with my ILs, who had to cancel their trip to come here). One night to celebrate our upcoming 10th wedding anniversary on our own would be nice, except... DH just emailed to say he has to go to London for work on Thursday.
Oh, and he won't be home any time soon to help me deal with a very whiny, clingy DD who is not likely to go to sleep anytime soon now that the meds are finally kicking in.
That sucks, sorry! Hope you're DD is feeling better. If so, can you keep the sitter for Thurs and do something with friends (or, frankly, just enjoy a nice kid-free night for yourself)? I know it's not the same as celebrating your anniversary, but sounds like you deserve a break all the same!
Thanks! I'm considering seeing the new Sophie Marceu movie (even though it looks kind of silly) if it comes to an enforced night out on my own. Might you be interested in a wine-movie combo???
I might be You would also like to know that I have my UGC pass that gets both of us into the cinema for free! PS if you decide you want to see The Dictator, I would totally be up for seeing it again. It was freaking hilarious (if you like that type of film, that is)
