I had to retire a pair of brown wool pants and need to replace them, plus I'd really like a pair of camel pants. Alas, my go-to in BR Martin Fit, and pickings seem slim this season. I don't really need more black/gray, and in the fall/winter I'm not looking for ankle length or bird print.
What other brands/fits should I try? I've tried every fit Ann Taylor makes, and no dice, at least not without significant alterations. J. Crew is usually too narrow for my triathlete thighs.
Those are *my* pants. I miss the old Martin style version circa 2008. I have had success with some styles at Loft and also (most recently) with the Cassidy fit an Drew fit at the limited.
The only thing about the outlet is that it seems like the pants are not as nice as the ones I order from BR. I find the same at Ann Taylor. The outlet pants are often either unlined or, like the last pair, not wool. I don't mind that so much in the summer, but I like lined, wool pants in the winter. I tend to stock up on tops at the outlets though.
I can wear Martin and Jackson, some of their Martin pants are cut just high enough for me to avoid the muffin top. My only other success has been Ann Taylor.

The outlet is actually a factory store - made in the style of BR, but not the same quality. J. Crew, Ann Taylor and Banana all do "factory" instead of outlet. I do much better using the sale sections of those stores to get lower prices than the factory for much higher quality.
Martins aren't my favorite, but I do find them very similar to Express Editors.
Have you tried the BR sloans? They work for me (martin, former jackson wearer) - but they are a different look (clingy more than trouser). Bonus: they feel like wearing yoga pants to work....

I buy a lot of Martin's at BRFS. You can get them on sale for $30ish, so the lesser quality is OK in my mind. Their wool pants are always lined in my experience and they usually have a different selection than BR, so you might find what you're looking for. Norstrom is also a good option.
