It's just not very funny. Did they lose writers or something? Last night's episode was painful to watch. I thought Nick came off like a scumbag/deadbeat - it wasn't funny. I also don't see a lot of chemistry between Nick & Jess.
I continue to love Mindy Project and I'm so glad they kicked the pastor to the curb.

I almost start a thread just like this earlier. I think I'm over New Girl. And I'm sad about it. The first season was so funny. I didn't mind last season. But this season is not funny. Winston has had a few good moments but that's about it. Even though I was originally team Nick/Jess I don't really like them together at all. I wish they wouldn't make them act like complete idiots. I mean Jess is supposed to be a teacher and nick at one point was almost finished with law school - but they are making them out to be completely stupid. It doesn't make sense and it's so inconsistent. I'm about to quit watch - or at least just stocking them up on my dvr until I have a rainy Saturday with nothing better to do.
I think they just don't know how to write it now that they've decided to put Nick and Jess together. Having the main characters in a relationship almost always ruins the show.

Is she even still a teacher?! Remember when she was laid off last season? I can't recall if she even found another job. But sure, she can just go on living in a downtown LA loft while drinking at Nick's bar instead of working. Okay.
This season has been terrible. I wish I could pick out something terrible to comment on, but nothing has even been memorable. Winston is the only saving grace, and his character hasn't even had much this fall.

I do love this show, and I still watch old episodes on Netflix too, which keep me watching and loving it. I agree it has been slacking and I hope they figure something out. Winston is my favorite, so much so that I am going to be getting a kitten soon and I am seriously considering naming him Winston ;-) Ha!
They really do make Nick out to be such a loser...no bank account, really? I feel like he will drag Jess down. Good luck to the writers to figure this thing out.

Winston and his stolen cat are my favorite things about this season. But I actually think the show has always been a bit uneven. When it's on, it's freaking hilarious, but there are more than a few episodes that I am completely meh about.
The show still makes me giggle (especially Winston) but I hope they figure out a way to break Nick and Jess up without it being awkward afterwards, because Nick being with Jess throws his friendship dynamic off with the other characters.
I read that The Mindy Project is getting especially low ratings this season, which is too bad, because I think it keeps getting funnier. I hope they don't cancel it!

Yes she has a new teaching job. There was an episode the other week of her trying to fit in with the cool teacher clique at her new school.

What?! The Mindy Project is freaking fantastic and better now that Casey's gone. Let's just hope they don't pull a Jess-Nick on the show with Mindy and Danny.

Ditto!! I'm so glad to hear I'm not in the minority re: New Girl. Oh yeah, that episode with the teachers and sneaking into the principal's hot tub - not funny.
Winston is what the show used to be. Love the cat plotline!

Oh - I wanted to add, The Mindy Project is growing on me, especially now that Casey is gone. That has been a huge improvement. I genuinely enjoyed this weeks episode and laughed out loud.
