I found this apartment that i freaking love yesterday. It is seriously gorgeous and i love that it has an attached garage and no surrounding neighbors. It is an end unit, and the other side and across the hall is all garages. The storage space is incredible. It has archways and other wonderful features.
The only thing im hesitant about is i wonder how practical the floor plan is to fit my small round table in the dining room. It looks almost as if it will block the walkway. Its hard to tell. It looked incredibly spacious in person, but there was no furniture. It is brand new.

I'm terrible at visualizing. Can you go back and measure out the area (assuming you don't already know the measurements) to try to help you figure it out with the furniture?
I can, and i know it will fit, but i guess i am just concerned how tight it will be. Kind of like, just because you can fit in to a certain size, doesn't mean you should wear it kind of thing. Lol

Are you accounting for the chairs? Is there space for people easily get in and out of the chairs? If so,I think there should be room to move easily around it with the chairs tucked in.
That looks like a great, spacious apartment and has a lot in the "pro" column inc patio, bedrooms, storage, no neighbors, etc. with the large living room/dining room space, if it feels too congested by the table, I'd consider putting It against a side wall. But then again, when we had an open loft apt, we didn't have a table. Our dining/living room space wasn't as deep though.
Anyway, just thoughts. Looks like a great apt. I'd love to see interior pics!

Thanks i will for sure take some. I could honestly get rid of it if i had to, and get barstools. I like it though.

That was my concern although i never actually use it, but would probably start. Haha.

Our master is an addition and the door is "between" the LR and DR (where a window once was). Right now I'm looking at a our slightly large leather chair that is angled in such a way that it's actually partially blocking the door to our room. And in turn, I have a smallish walk way between that chair and the end chair at our DR table in order to get to my room.
It's not an issue. I don't need a TON of room to walk around. It works. I've never felt like the walk way was blocked.
How big is your table? 4' dia? You should add about 18" for the chairs so about 7' dia.
I am thinking that the floor plan allowed for the door swing or the walk through and that is why the space is labeled differently. I would assume about 2'-6" each for both and that makes about 5' take that out of 12'-6". or 7'-6" which allows well for your table and walking when in use.

It is 42 in in diameter, so it should only be 3.5 feet. Adding the chair space, this should definitely work. Thank you for breaking that down. It was very helpful. .

Thank you this makes sense. Talking it through and hearing other examples helps

That's just odd though if they're subtracting width for door swing. The layout Is supposed to be actual dimensions.
It just cracked me up as the diagram doesn't match up w the numbers listed.
If its mainly a homework table, I'd put a side against a wall and reconfigure a little. I also understand not getting rid of furniture you like esp when in an apt. Eventually you may be in a diff space where you'd wish you had it back.
