DH lost his job last week, so this may be a moot point for awhile, but whenever he does find work, we plan to start a fairly extensive remodel of our home.
Our problem is that two days per week, DS is home with my step-mother (the other three days, he's at daycare). I'm sure he won't be able to sleep through the reno, and my parents live too far away for us to drive him there and get back to work, or for SM and DS to go there for nap time.
I was thinking that SM could let him fall asleep while she's driving, and he can nap in the car?
Are there any other solutions that I'm not thinking of?
Do you have a neighbor who could let you use a bedroom? I understand that could be a little creeper-esque if you don't know them well.
You might be surprised re: how well he does with noise. You might ask that the crew try and do less noisy work during nap time those two days/week if at all possible. I mean, avoiding heavy demo and such for a few hours/week shouldn't be a huge deal.
I thought about this. We get along so well with our neighbors, but I don't want to impose on them. Argh. I'll definitely ask her to try napping him here, and we'll just see what happens. If nothing else, we know he will sleep in the car.
We had our roof and front door replaced in December, and DS was here for naps 2 days a week. We set him up on the couch in the basement with a fan for white noise and he did great. The banging was easily heard down there, but at least it wasn't directly next to where he was sleeping like he would've been in his own room.
