It used to be a great way to sell stuff, but I find I don't want to deal with CL crazies to sell stuff anymore, either. We had a nice entertainment center listed for $100. It was $500 new less than two years ago. We kept getting emails asking if we'd take like $25 or $30 and asking if we'd deliver.

I hear you. I am always looking for furniture I can refurbish or little projects and people have the shittiest stuff they want $$$ for. If I wanted to pay new prices, I wouldn't be looking at Craigslist.
I still have a couch here that I was giving away that I took down because I couldn't deal with the crazies anymore. It was free and people acted like I owed it to them for one reason or another. One woman was pissed becsause I someone was supposed to pick it up because she was disabled and on a fixed income and she had to have it. DELETE
I know. I generally charge 25% of what I paid for it. I've had good experiences on CL, though. I want to get RID of my shit, lol.
I have browsed the ads and I know what you're talking about. You have to sift to find the deals.
25% of what you paid is a great starting point. If its not at least going to save me half, I keep on movin.
As a seller, it's just way easier to price stuff low. Nobody really tries to talk me down at all. And I'm pretty firm on my price since it's so low. It makes things so much easier.

I've sold a ton of stuff on craigslist. I sold a Bugaboo Cameleon for $300 a few weeks ago and just sold all our left over tile for $400.
On the other hand my Volvo XC90 is on there for $6200 and I just got an offer for $3800 - not so great.
I also buy a lot on craigslist. Got a wicker sunroom set last weekend (in really good condition) for $100 and I buy a lot of used toys. Got a great play kitchen for $40 and just got a slipper chair for $50 and a Pier 1 nightstand for $35 last week.
