DH and I aren't totally sure if we want another, and we are at least 3 years away from being able to even consider it financially. We live in a 2 bedroom condo with no storage. I feel strange getting rid of things, but I hate to crowd my IL's basement with more stuff if we aren't ever going to use it.
I mean, I have diaper boxes filled with clothes stacked to the ceiling. I have a swing and some other handmedowns that DD has outgrown that just take up room.
Did anyone know they were/are one and done? Was it strange to get rid of everything? I posted on FB to see if anyone wanted my maternity clothes, and immediately felt quilty when a friend asked why I wasn't holding onto things for the next one.

We are in a similar situation minus having a relative's basement to store them in. I give baby clothes to a local organization that fosters kids in crisis- sometimes til their moms get out of crisis, sometimes until they get adopted, sometimes forever. There is another org in town that helps the poorest of the poor and they take things that other orgs turn their noses up at. Ask around- I'm sure there are similar organizations where you live.
I sold everything but big things (activity mat, exersaucer, jumparoo, swing, etc.), and I am glad I did. We held onto a few other things, but we did not use them and ended up getting rid of them b/c they just didn't keep well.
We are not 100% on being one and done, but we also live in a small apartment with no storage. I have no qualms about getting rid of everything because A) I was frugal with my purchases to begin with; I bargain shopped for everything or bought secondhand and B) I like to shop and I'm sure by the time we have another (at least 4 years down the road) I will want the latest, greatest gadgets anyhow, because I'm like that.

I think I will donate the bigger hand-me-down items. I feel strange selling or consigning things that we got for free. DH has a coworker that is due with a girl in August (they have 2 boys already) who could use some of the clothes.
My gut feeling is that by the time we're in a place to afford number 2, we'll be able to afford new (to us at least) stuff. If we were definitely going to try in the next year or two, I might hold onto more things. Since it's going to be at least three, probably four, it's a different story.
Have I mentioned my generalized anxiety and hoarding tendencies?
Consign it. Then if you do have another one, just pick up the stuff at a consignment sale.
Another option is you could donate it to a women's shelter or other organization that works will low-income mothers.
This. I have a box of clothing right now that I need to take to the consignment store. I also have a bassinet that was given to us by a friend. We never used it. They don't want it back, so it's just hanging out in Naomi's room. *sigh* I feel guilty even considering selling it, but seriously they aren't having any more kids and they don't have another relative to gift it to.

I go through clothes and keep my favorite outfits/special outfits, and basics like white kimono shirts, swaddle, sleep sacs, etc. Everything else I donate/give to friends. I've dumped baby gear at my parents before, but I'm really cheap and will be holding on to that junk until I get a tubal or my H gets a V. Yeah, I just realized I'm no help, lol.
