How far would you drive for a CL item?

Would you drive further if the item in question is something specific that you have been looking to find for at least a month and a half?

I have been searching for a specific pair of discontinued Pier 1 counter stools for our island for a while now. I just finally found a pair w/the cushions for $75 but I would have to drive 2 hours one way to get them.

I would do it and make a little day trip out of it.

I agree with pp. Find something else to do in that town or along the way so you're not in the car for 4 hours straight. Also, see if they will meet you 1/2 way. Who knows, maybe they have friends, family, or work in your town or a town inbetween and you could get lucky.

As long as you are sure they are what you want, I would do it. But first I would see if they would be willing to meet you half way.

If the price is right and I had enough picture proof I'd drive it.

No I wouldn't. Too far for Pier1 furniture. Its also really hard to tell the condition of the items in just a picture.

I've driven 2 hours for a china hutch they had great pictures online and I knew it was what I wanted so I would do it

I probably wouldn't go that far unless I could turn it into a fun overnight trip or something.

Unless I'm already going to the area, or can come up with a good reason to go to that area (other than the CL listing) I'll drive maybe 2 hours one-way if it's something I really want. I don't make special trips just for CL.

we do 4 hour round trip day trips a lot so it wouldn't phase me.
