I prefer to not shop at Wal*Mart, but being in such a small town that isn't always possible. I will go out of my way some to go somewhere else, but I'm not driving 45 min in the opposite direction for something.
I guarentee there are some of you going into chick-fil-a with a hat and sunglasses. It's like crack, but it's chicken.
so good!!!!
I boycotted AFTER trying their peach shake a few years ago (even though I knew about the FoF thing). It was much harder to avoid in VA than MA.
They are kinda on every corner in VA I can't boycott good food, especially when they are the only good fast food in the area. Now if McDonalds wants to give me something to be pissed about (other than buying subpar beef from mexico) lets go!

Sears. Those assholes wouldn't sell my H a tv console. Because they only had the floor model left. Pisses me off beyond belief. If I would have been there heads would have rolled.

I'm reposting my answer from there:
Ugh. I have an ever growing number.
I won't shop at Ann Taylor Loft because they routinely perform very poorly with regard to human rights and use of sweatshop labor.
I won't shop at Chick-Fil-A not just because I don't eat chicken, but also because of their stance on equality.
I won't purchase from cosmetic companies that test on animals. Mac and Urban Decay are the two most recent companies who won't be seeing any dollars from my purse.
There are others. But those are my big three because they make me the most sad.
My liberal ass used to boycott everything. And then I got divorced and poor because I am the worst with money, and now I stop at Chik-Fil-A on my way to Walmart.
WalMart. I had no idea about chickfila being anti-gay. I know they're run by mormons. This bothers me greatly.... (the anti-gay, not the mormon thing).
I won't shop anywhere that is anti-gay. This included the cute coffee shop down the street from my house that I used to love for its friendly service - and it was never crowded, I didn't understand how that wa spossible, but never crowded - until I checked Yelp and learned it was owned by a charismatic church that is, obviously, anti-gay marriage. So now I join everyone else in the neighborhood in not going there.
I've tried to be better about cruelty free but I didn't realize Mac tested on animals. So that's problematic.

toledo, I wish to god that we had a menards. We make do with Home Depot.
I don't shop at walmart or lowes, and the reasons are pretty evenly split between "I fucking hate this place" and"wow, what ass holes." We don't donate to Salvation Army (besides, Purple Heart will come to our door and pick our stuff up).
We don't have chick-fil-a or hobby lobby, so those are moot.
Chick-Fil-A. I found out about S. Truett Cathy's bigoted ass while I was KU and craving CFA lemonade with ferocity. I totally admit to going a few more times too. Same with Hobby Lobby.
I 'boycott' McDonald's, but that's less on their generally crappy business practices and more because AFAIK there are something like 3 things on their menu that's vegetarian including soft drinks.

It's a new thing. They want to sell their products in China and to do so cheaply by creating the products there. If they formulated them here and sold them there, they'd still be cruelty-free. But because they want to save money by formulating them in the factories in China, they are forced to comply with their rules and China has a law that all products must be tested on animals.
Urban Decay and Smashbox just did the same thing, too.
The products you buy here won't have been tested on animals, but the company is no longer considered cruelty-free due to their activity in China.
