Does anyone have a rec for where to get cute Christmas cards that aren't with photos? No one wants to see a non-professional pic of me, H, or our dog. I feel like all the options either require pictures or are old lady style.
I'm sure your friends/family will want to see a photo of you, your H and your dog. I love seeing those, it doesn't necessarily have to have kids. It doesn't have to be professional.
I send pictures Xmas cards to close family/friends with a silly photo of just me.

I think friends/family appreciate a photo with or without kids in the photo. It doesn't have to be a professional photo either. I have found some really nice cards I liked at Costco, both with photo spots and without.

I am AW'ing the hell out of our dog on our Christmas cards. We actually just got back from having a little mini photo shoot with a friend who does photography. I always LOVE seeing pics of people, even sans kids, especially if there is a pet involved.

I love when I get pictures of just a couple, especially with a pet. My very favorite Christams card ever was of a picture of a single friend, who is totally beautiful on the inside, but challenged on the outside, and very funny. Her card was a full cover very professional photo of herself, in a suit, looking very stiff. Inside she said, "wishing you a relaxed and joyful holiday season, love you, me"
If you don't like pictures of yourself, just use a photo of the dog. That's what I did the last couple of years.
Unfortunately, I got divorced and lost my dog to cancer in 2013, so if I sent a photo card this Christmas, there would be no choice but to send a photo of just me. Sorry, not going to happen.
I was going to shop at a local stationery store for cards ... but I'm sure etsy.com has good choices too.
DH is a Scrooge and takes no part in the cards. In fact, he says cards stress him out. This is despite having never sent any. Anyway, his only influence is to make me feel guilty if I buy the cute (but slightly more expensive) cards I'd buy if I were still on my own. So, I buy pretty inexpensive cards from Target; they're okay, but not adorable.
When I have this baby, I'm doing photo cards. I wish him luck in trying to stop me.
ETA: Even for the really cute cards, I never spent much. I tend to buy my cards at the end of the season and stash them for the next year. Keep that in mind this year for next year! Book stores have some really cute cards if you don't see anything you love online.
I'm cool with receiving any photo cards of anyone, human or canine/feline, professional or amateur. But we don't send photo cards, and there are tons of good ones.
- Snow & Graham and Paper Source are two of my favorites. I think my last 4 or 5 years' worth of cards have been from one of these two companies. Snow and Graham are designers, while Paper Source carries their own (super cute) line but also other well-chosen designers as well. - Broadway Paper doesn't seem to have their Christmas cards up yet, but it's worth checking back because they usually have a good selection. - MoMA always has some cool modern cards. One of my friends sends a 3D card every year and I always look forward to seeing which one it will be. - I also like Kate Spade. I can't seem to find a full collection all in one place, but I usually happen upon them at some point in the season at better paper stores. - Target always has some cute ones every year too, and they will undoubtedly be the least expensive of all the options I've listed here.
