I'm probably going to buy FI some video games. I was thinking of getting him a nice windbreaker, but by the time Xmas rolls around it'll be too cold to use one.

I'm getting my H a new video game, some DVDs, and a bottle of Johnny Walker Platinum. He is a scotch guy and hasn't had the new one yet. I'm hoping he doesn't decide to buy it for himself before Christmas!
I'll also probably throw some of his favorite candy and a $10 iTunes GC in his stocking for some new music.

I'm getting him some clothes that he wants, football cards (he collects them), and trying to come up with a surprise gift, but I have no ideas as of yet.
My standard for DH is a new hardback book for his birthday and new socks lol and for Christmas...the game of throne DVDs (these dont actually come out till Feb, so he gets a pic of them) and then new clothes or shoes. He never wants anything and it.really pisses me off.
^^
That's my H, too. I don't want anything for Christmas, he says - I explain to him people still want to buy him things and he needs to just make a list, because he never likes the list I make for him (for his mom and mine).
Anyway - I have no idea what to buy him, a work shirt for sure. Usually I google stuff for inspiration until I think of something awesome.
I think we're getting each other a joint gift of plantation shutters for the house. Exciting, I know.
Last year we decided that we were going to spend our money on new kitchen cabinets instead of gifts for each other at Christmas. We were at the in-law's for Christmas last year, and he hated how it looked that neither of us had bought gifts for the other, so he went out and bought me a new Nook HD. I needed a new one to replace my old worn out one, but I just wanted the Simple Glow, not the fancy-schmancy HD tablet. And now I looked bad because I hadn't gotten him anything. And I'm aware that I look ungrateful, but he went against what we had agreed on, and it wasn't about getting me something he knew I wanted, it was about how it looked to his family. And we still don't have the new cabinets.

That would piss me off.
We exchange gifts at home on Christmas morning so it should be a non-issue. We may decide to do very small gifts for one another but my DH is thrilled to pieces to not have to think of a gift so I don't think he'll randomly get one.

I've got his birthday figured out, but am only just now starting to think about Christmas.
For his birthday he's getting a toolbelt, a Mike Ditka t-shirt, a new travel coffee mug, and a CD with the lyrics of all of the songs he's made up for K since he was born with corresponding pictures (along with the real versions of the songs he sings the made up lyrics to).
I preordered a PS4 for DH. His birthday is right around Christmas, so I am probably going to pass it off as a present for both. I feel like it's okay because it's so expensive.
If I was a good wife, this is what I would do. But I hate the amount of time that he already plays video games and I don't want to play any part in increasing that
Dh wants some fancy headphones. I'll probably get him that, a new watch, and he mentioned something about wanting the first 2 Jurassic Park movies tonight (he somehow has the third but not the others). And a subscription to a magazine I think he'll like.
I bought him a special pan to grill pizza, but beyond that I imagine gifts will be pretty minimal. We're planning a trip to Italy this summer, and all our extra money is going towards funding it.

I'm pretty sure I'm getting him an iPad. It is a teeny bit more than I want to spend, but I always spend a ton when I add up all the smaller things. My other hesitation is that I don't want him to think it's something for me or to share. :S
