I really want one. Specifically, I really want a Balenciaga one but I *don't* want to spend that much (I might, though, if I can't find another one). Ideally, I would like to keep it under $1K, I could go to $1.5 without being terribly upset, but $3k for the Balenciaga will be hard to swallow, though DH has said he is fine with it if I can't find another I like as much.
Does anyone have a leather jacket they love? And ideas from other brands? It has to be real leather and not so edgy I can't wear it to work. And not so trendy it will be dated in a year. If I get the Balenciaga one I have to be convinced I will still love it in the next 3-5 years.
Here are a few pictures of the ones I am considering. The best picture of the black Balenciaga I could find was on Kristen, but don't hold that against the jacket.
I like it. Though $3k is a lot, I feel like real leather jackets are one of those things where if you know you will wear it for years to come; if you have the money why not invest in it?
The other two, though cheaper, are too...manly looking for my taste. I feel like the one Kristen is wearing is a little more girly (womanly?) and can be dressed up or down.
Three things: 1. I love the lines on the first one, the Balenciaga with the quilted shoulders (on Kristen Stewart) 2. KS always looks half drugged, unkempt and dirty no matter how well dressed she is (and I really want her 15 minutes to be up like yesterday) -and- 3. I want your clothing budget.
I think it is more visually appealing to see the K.Stew one because of the quilted shoulders/arms plus the front of the jacket isn't just one straight, flat, piece like the other two you posted.
I think you need to find it and try it on/buy it and try it on, but I'm willing to bet it will look great on you.
I really like the Balenciaga, but I like the others well enough that I'm not sure the $1500+ difference is justifiable. Certainly not to me. You should try them all on before deciding.
I don't want to try the Balenciaga unless I try and don't like the others. If I try it I may become even more fixated.
H just bought me a black motorcycle jacket from Goodwill while he was there finding halloween costume pieces. It fits great and is super flattering. It cost $7.
I agree with the poster about ttc. Your body shape will change after baby, so if its super fitted it might not fit right even after the baby weight is gone.
