I can see how they may think that, but I'm sorry, no. If they honestly want to succeed as a digital entity, especially a forum-type entity, they have to realize that antagonizing members is effectively corporate suicide. When your content is primarily user driven (and let's face it, TN's content is very user driven) the users really are a critical part of the equation. If they didn't want to deal with flames like this, perhaps they should have paid attention to the thoughts of....wait for it....the users!

What really shocks me is that they somehow managed to make the ugly knot format even uglier on the nest. They removed all of the shading between threads that made it kind of make sense and reverted to the most basic level of ugly ass coding they could. That is also the first time I swore here. Feel goooood.

I'm so not on the "needlessly antagonizing" bandwagon. If a company made a product, made major changes to that product without any focus groups or testing and the customers expressed their outrage on the internet... that would be totally normal. It's the same thing here. I'm sure that whole section on Wiki will eventually be removed for good, but it's a good outline of what happened since last week and fair warning to other companies that might make this misstep in the future.

Look, I hate TN too. They acted like total assholes and they got what was coming to them.

But I also dont want them to delete every mention of proboards, or contact proboards saying we are infringing on their content or copying their forums, or that we are violating the pb terms and conditions. That's what I meant by needlessly antagonizing.

Anyway, I'm a mod here so you know I'll be first on tn's hit list!
