I posted it on the Got Pregnant board and such, but hadn't let you ladies known yet. Please to be seeing my updated ticker!
Our little girl was born on October 19th in Amsterdam after 38 hours of labor. We were released from the hospital only a few hours later (longer than necessary because mommy needed a nap!) into the extremely capable care of our post partum doula/home healthcare worker at home. (Love the Dutch system where everyone gets professional support for 8 days!)
We're all doing great, she nurses like a pro (holy hell engorgement hurts and thank goodness for a good breast pump to relieve some tension!) she's super calm/mellow and only cries when she's really hungry or has bad cramps/gas. If we pay attention we see the signals way before she starts crying, she's super good at giving off non-screaming cues, so really the crying is generally only at night when we don't wake up quick enough when she starts fussing a bit for food. I guess we're just plain lucky that way :-)
She's starting to get more active and is determined to roll over asap (yeah, we know she can't/isn't suposed to do that for a couple of months, but seriously, she wants to and tries and already got halfway there a couple of times which scares the hell out of me!) she also totally recognizes the music I listened to all the time during pregnancy and you can tell that she focuses on that and actually starts moving around to it a bit, like she did in utero. So darn cute!
Anyways, we're super happy, she's awesome and we're doing great!
