I was going to get Henry something like this for his birthday. They have it at daycare and he loves playing in it. They have to drag him out.
I went to buy it and they have all kinds of tents that connect to it. My mom is asking what to get him, maybe a tent to go with his tunnel? Anyone have something like this and want to recommend one? Or is it a huge waste?
That's a pretty solid gift for a kid. My parents just bought something similar for my nephew and he super loves it. My Dad always made us playrooms and tunnels out of cardboard boxes from work when I was a kid. They were great because we could 'decorate' the walls too.
I can't remember what brand we got, but Abby had a play tent and she loved it. It was a little large and bulky, so if you're strapped for space, don't bother, but if you have the space it's great. She was able to use it as her own little space.
I think they are all about the same quality wise. We have the set from Target and while I was hesitant to buy it my DS loves his. I think when he is older he will use it a lot more too. It does take up a lot of space when open but it folds up quickly and takes no space to store unlike most kids stuff. We don't have the tent and tunnel connected normally because he gets confused by it but I'm sure that will change. Definitely a great gift!
I bought this one for my niece last year for Christmas - she was a year old. She LOVES IT. It is pretty big though, so it would only get pulled out every so often. It took a few tries to figure out how to get the tents and tunnels to close up, but once we did its super easy.
My SIL likes that on a dry warm day she can set it up outside and my niece goes to town.
I think I picked it up for closer to $15 on-line on Black Friday last year.
