We love DS' name, and could not imagine changing it. We are having a hard time calling him anything other than his name.
DH was named after his grandfather. FIL did not really like it and gave him a completely different nickname. Only people at work use his given name. At our wedding, since we did use his given name on the invites, DH's cousin came up and said "I had no idea that Walter was your name!"

No one around here actually calls their kid their legal name. So just claim you are from the south and call her whatever you like. On a more serious note, I love the nickname Allie. It fits a baby more than Allison. It could just be that Allison is a more grown up name and it's hard to call babies by adult names (like William or Edward or such). Her full name might grow on you as she gets older.

LO's first name is really cute, but she looks more like her middle name Sophia(she has dark eyes and hair, very Greek). Her cousin who was born 9 months after her was named Sophia, so we can't really use it now. Honestly, naming a baby is super hard! When LO was born I thought she looked like a boy, and more like FIL than any other family member so it took a while for me to get used to calling her 'Emma'. I also do not like my own name, my mom hates her name, my grandma didn't like her name....etc.....
I love Rory or Rori. (I like Allie or Allison too.)
I thought we might have made a mistake when DD was first born. We had decided in her middle name as soon as we knew she was a girl (my grandmother's name), but didn't decide for sure on her first name until she was born. We sort of "knew" her by her middle name, and I wondered if we should have switched them. But after using her name it really grew on me and really fits her.
