The kids and I came home from swimming this morning, and our dog greeted us at the door with another yellow lab. They were both happily playing with our dog's toys. Needless to say, we were a bit surprised. I think the cleaning people (who were there when we left the house) must have let this dog in, thinking he was ours? We have a yellow lab too, although they look nothing alike. I called the number on the tag and the people were half crazed "OH MY GOSH WE'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR HIM FOR AN HOUR!!!"
They said their lawn guys let him out of the yard. During his playdate with our dog, he managed to pull down and eat the contents of an entire package of hamburger buns.

Well, I'm glad, he ended up safe at your house instead, of out on the roads. That's awesome. And you really should have a talk with your dog about inviting dogs you've never met over without permission.
Seriously, our dog was psyched. She used to have playdates with our friend's lab all the time in our old city. She probably was just nostalgic for old times.

I'm seriously dying of laughter. Tears are streaming down my face as I sit here and think about if that happened to me. My two dogs would have greeted me and one would have sat there looking like, "mom, I told Linus he couldn't let strangers in the house while you were out!" while the other would have been standing here waggin his tail like, "look mom I made a new friend!"
I called my sister and read her this as she knows her dogs would totally do what mine would've done.
Thank you for sharing this tonight. I needed that laugh!
