Hello everyone. How are you doing today? What are you up to today?
It's almost July, insane!
QOTD: What's your favorite summertime dessert?
I'm good today, happy we finally got our new car! I'm working this morning, babysitting this afternoon.. I'll probably take her to the park and for a picnic. I'm having dinner with a friend tonight and hopefully going for a run when I get back home. H has firemen training all day and won't be back til late.
QOTD: Strawberry Shortcake...mmm! But it's hard to find here, I recently just tried a tarte aux prunes and loved it, so maybe that's my new favorite.
We are heading out to Schaumburg in the morning. I'm going to the Dell Kiosk at the giant mall to finally choose a laptop. I've been going back and forth on it for the last three months... I have commitment issues. As long as the price quote is good I will be ordering. I'm also dragging H around the mall for a little bit. We'll have lunch and then head over to Oak Park to take a look around there.
QOTD: Cheesecake and watermelon. I have a belly full of after dinner watermelon. Yummy.
ktkl time to explain the firemen duties of CH. When we were in the mountains I assumed it was volunteer. In Zurich I figured it was paid. We actually have had them run drills outside both the apartments we lived in. Our apartment in Zurich was also nearby a training facility with a controlled simulation fire building. That I watched from a distance for a bit.

I have to stay inside waiting for the mail to come. I have two packages waiting for me at a packstation, but I can't get them without my DHL goldcard and I lost that a few days ago. So, I ordered a new one. The mail usually comes in the morning, so I'll probably head out in the afternoon.
QOTD: I never thought of desserts as summer v. winter desserts (other than holiday desserts like Pumpkin Pie). I wonder if it's because I usually have lived in more tropical climates? I'll go with watermelon.

:@ It is 82ºF at 8 in the morning. WTF??? I have nothing positive to add today. It is going to be over 100 today and I have to go to work. And I think the metro is on strike.
Morning. It is sticky and humid out this morning, but feels as if it is about to rain... quite warm... who knows what it will end up like today!
I'm giving a training course today - bleugh.... I've given it a number of times before but somehow today I don't really feel prepared for it... chilling later this evening.
QOTD: I love meringue, strawberries and vanilla icecream all together! Actually, I'd even just take the strawberries and a bit of whipped cream, or add in some raspberries too please!

Good Morning! Wednesday has not been bad. Got my grocery shopping done and have dinner ready and waiting for when DH gets home -- we're having chicken marsala and baked spinach. I got all my paperwork together for my visa application and tried about 30 times -- all unsuccessful -- to check on the status of my AFP Police Check. The AFP cashed the money order on May 30 and it's now June 27 and I do not have the police check back.
QOTD: Snoballs. I loved hot summer days when we gave up on real food and had snoballs for dinner. The days we planned snoballs as dessert were a close second.
Making up for the slack from yesterday. Also, have to do a lot of grocery shopping and attend my al-anon group tonight. But will go for a run first, after finishing my coffee.
Morning! I have the day off today and am taking M to lunch with a friend and then to the beach. I hope he will behave at the restaurant... H gets back from a business trip tonight.

.
OH HELL NO! Good luck with that! Last time the metro had a full strike in the summer I oonly made it 20 min walking from my house then waited an hour for a C2 bus that would stop to let people on. It never came and I ended up walking home and not getting to class that day.
Today I have an appointment to have blood drawn and see the bean! That's all.
QOTD: I'm not sure, but I think I ay be the ony person in the world who doesn't like watermelon...
Good morning. We've had a lazy morning here. This afternoon I think we will go shopping to get J and L some summer clothes, and I also need to find L a bathing suit for this year. DH is still in the army, so we might end up staying longer and eating dinner in the city depending on L's behavior and mood.
QOTD: I'll go with strawberry shortcake too. and last week I had a strawberry tart that was really nice.
I think DD's fever may have finally broken, hallelujah! She's been sleeping since 5am (it's after 1pm here now) and now I'm trying to get some work done before she wakes up.
QOTD: I like Key Lime Pie in hot weather, but I'm an equal opportunity dessert-lover. Currently, I am really into pistachio-flavored financiers.

When I was working in Madrid in 2002, ours was one of the only workplaces that chose to open despite a metro strike. It was June and close to 40 degrees and the walk to the office was miserable.
Re: watermelon, my daughter doesn't like it, either. I've always thought that was strange!
I'm choosing to have a good day despite waking up to late to drive to my Bar prep class. It's just watching pre-recorded lectures, so I'm going to watch from home.
Poor kitty threw up on my bed this morning...seriously getting worried about her. I sound like a crazy cat lady.
I think I'm going to get nails done and do a little shopping with my sister this afternoon. I really want to try Bare Escentuals/Minerals makeup, so a trip to ULTA might be in order. Should be fun.
QOTD: MI is semi-famous for its blueberries during the summer, and my Grandma makes this delicious lemon-blueberry dessert that is lemon jello mixed with coolwhip with the fresh blueberries in it. Sort of like a jello salad, only the texture and taste is better IMO. Lemon is such a great summer flavor.

Good morning! Today is my b-day, actually, so we're going out with my parents and brother and his gf to a Hibachi grill tonight. Otherwise I'm making DH do the lion's share of watching DD today and am trying to relax.
QOTD: Strawberry shortcake. Or cookies n' cream shakes from a local ice cream place. Yum.
BFP1: DD born April 2011 at 34w1d via unplanned c/s due to HELLP, DVT 1 week PP

BFP3: DD2 born Feb 2013 at 38w3d via unplanned RCS due to uterine dehiscence
