"Honestly, it’s the Day of the Dead. I wasn’t a dead person, I wasn’t being disrespectful. I was a survivor of a marathon. And it’s not like I was walking around with a fake leg or my arm torn off or something like that."
Um. How fucking ignorant are you.I was just paying my respects guise!!! I can't believe how flat out dumb she is. Oh wait, yes I can. It's just so fucking sad to see this shit :/
Plus her twitter handle says it all. She's 22. I don't think her age gives her a pass either. Wtmf.
I think both sides of this are wrong. She should 1) never have done it in the first place, and 2) never put a pic on social media of it. Dumb dumb dumb. AND she never should have posted a pic of her DL online. How stupid can she be?
The people that were so enraged that they sent death threats to her parents were in the wrong too. That's just crossing a line, and her parents didn't do anything wrong (not that I would condone death threats to her, either, but they were totally innocent in all this). Everyone just needs to back away from the social media.
Everything she says in relation to how she dressed just oozes of "sorry not sorry". You can flat out tell that she has no idea why it was wrong and that she's sorry people took offense to it but in her own little world, it is no big deal.
Death threats are way over the top and I feel bad for her family but I can't say I'm too upset that the public now knows how stupid she is.

I just read this today. REally, honey? Just say "I'm sorry. I was wrong". She's doing herself no favors.
BUT I think the threats against her and he rparents are ridiculous too.
What if your child grows up to be a bully? Would you want to be blamed for that? What about parents whose children commit terrible crimes?
I would feel like I screwed up somewhere, yes.
Agreed. It's our job as parents to provide an example of what is considered socially and ethically acceptable in society. Otherwise what is the point of being a parent? If my kid pulled something like this, no matter what age they were, then I would feel that the communication/lesson broke down somewhere. As the parent, that problem is on me.
There is a difference between making small mistakes in life (which I know my kid will do and hopefully learn from) and just being completely devoid of any moral compass.

It's amazing what people think they can get away with by using the claim they are HONORING someone/something.
