I'm trying to eat better. I'm giving up Dr. Pepper and hoping I don't go into withdrawals.
I'm going to learn how to cook healthier now that I'll be home a lot more (YAY for working part-time!!!) And I'm just going to plan my grocery shopping better so that we don't have junk in our house.
I just ate my weight in lettuce and tomatoes and I'm still hungry.
Do you eat meat? I have Turkey break and low fat cheese for lunch and it fills me up nicely. If I get hungry later I just chew gum. Have you tried this? Do I sound stupid?
I am running a 5k on the spur of the moment that I just found out about in our town. Tomorrow. At 6:00pm. Our temperature is suppose to reach 100
You all rock!
Woo look at you! I'd come sweat it out with you if I thought I had a snowball's chance in hell of making it out to the burg by 6pm.
I have a feeling I will be walking the last mile it is just going to be miserable hot and the idea of sweating my brains out doesn't make me happy.
I got to two miles Sunday and started getting dizzy and it wasn't nearly as hot as it is suppose to be. Dizzy was new for me, must have been bad breathing?

See post about how I bought Oreos for the office and have eaten 600 freakin' calories! That sucks. Trying to wash it out of my system by sucking down water like it's nobody's business.
Eat carbs at the beginning of the day, when you really need the energy. Later in the day, your body needs less and the carbs you consume are more likely to be stored as body fat. This rule does not only apply to your meals – but also your snacks. If you want to lose weight, it is important to eat every 3 hours to keep your metabolism engaged. Be sure to choose healthy foods. Shaun T’s morning snack has more carbs than his afternoon snack, and so on.
If you were to abide by this rule, carb-loading earlier in the day and minimizing your carbohydrate consumption as the day goes on, your meals would look something like this:
Breakfast: 40% Carbs, 30% Protein and 30% Fat (600 calories)
Whole wheat bagel and 2 tbsp of all-natural peanut butter 5 egg whites with a half-cup of bell peppers 3 slices of lean turkey bacon
Lunch: 25% Carbs, 45% Protein and 30% Fat (450 calories)
Open-faced roast beef sandwich ½ tbsp ranch dressing whole wheat crackers 5 oz of low-fat Greek yogurt
Dinner: 15% Carbs, 55% Protein and 30% Fat (350 calories)
Spinach salad with half-cup of fresh tofu and 1 tbsp of balsamic vinegar ½ cup cooked zucchini ½ cup cooked asparagus Half a salmon filet
Woo look at you! I'd come sweat it out with you if I thought I had a snowball's chance in hell of making it out to the burg by 6pm.

Drink lots of water before, during and after the race, Have you tried Power Bar Blocks? Also drink G2 (the low-calorie Gatorade) to keep your electrolytes up. Since you're running tomorrow, you should be doing this today.
It's the Hyde Park Blast (in Hyde Park, obv). I've only ever done 5Ks so I figure a couple more will be a good challenge.
Also, 7 weeks is definitely enough time to tone up. You can totally do it!
Oooh, fun! I did the Blast in 2009 and the crowd support is fantastic...plus the post race cocktails aren't half bad either It definitely wasn't an easy race-I had done the Pig half six weeks prior so I figured hills on the Blast course would be no problemo. WRONG! I should have known better since I wasn't a complete stranger to Hyde Park, but oh well. I would totally do it again but it seems like I have stuff going on that weekend every year
I heard that they removed all the big hills this year. I'll take it!
