My heartburn was so bad last pregnancy that I would sit up all night in a chair and drink baking soda with water to take the edge off. This time it's a little better (so far).
One of the new things I've tried that seems to help is drinking aloe juice. Both the gross pure stuff and the better tasting stuff with a little flavoring helps - "original" flavoring is fine.

Where do you get aloe juice? I may need to layer something else in, as I sit in bed debating a second Pepcid since the first hasn't kicked in over the last hour.
I get it at trader joes and drink a glass or two an hour before bedtime - usually half juice, half water (pure water gives me awful reflux). The local latino grocery store also carries it. For me, it works better than tums. (I take a few of those a day when needed, but for night they don't cut it).
