I wanted to thank you all for the thoughtful replies and give an update. I spoke with my H and used phrases like "I need x" and he was very responsive. He acknowledged that his anxiety and temper were worsening and he had some insight as to why that was happening. Initially, he planned to make an appointment with a therapist "sometime soon" with no set action plan.
Over the next few days, we revisited the topic several times. He really listened to what I said and realized that he needed to give priority to this issue. He has had 1 appointment with a counselor and has a second appt scheduled next week. Prior to his appt, he made a list of concerns and goals for the therapist. He felt that the first appt was really productive and he clicked well with his therapist.
I finally feel like we are on the same page with this issue and that he is taking this very seriously. I feel really relieved and hopeful.
