Hello all, My name is Elisa and I am an expat living with my husband in Europe for the past 4 years. We're about to embark on a new adventure and move to the Hague in January 2014. Anyone on this board live in the Netherlands? Any advice on the Hague for an expat & choosing a family-friendly neighborhood there? Seems like an awesome international city! We're really excited
I'm not at all in the Netherlands, but welcome to the board! Where in Europe have you been living? I'm in Paris. Anywho, welcome and I look forward to hearing more from you
Hello and welcome to the board! Where are you in Europe exactly? I'm an Italian married to a French living in NYC. I've been in Europe a lot for work over the past couple of years, though. Good luck on your upcoming move!
Hi and welcome! We used to have quite a few NLers on here. Cheesecake just had a baby a few weeks ago, so she's probably pretty busy :-) Not sure what happened to the others.
Welcome! Indeed as irish mentioned I live in the NL. DH is American and I am Dutch. I grew up in the The Hague area and lived there for a few years not so long ago. I can't comment on family friendly neighborhoods all that much (I don't have a family myself) but I do know various areas well. I can give you the inside scoop on a particular one if you want to know more about a place you have seen. I personally really like the area near the dunes and the beach.

Hi and welcome. Yep, I'm in NL (Amsterdam) with DH and a newborn DD. Most of the NL ladies have left or are leaving soon, so it's great to get new additions to our group of Dutchies. PM me if you have questions.

Hi! Welcome/welkom! American living in the Netherlands (Limburg) checking in. My DH is Dutch and we have a 4-month old son. I've been here five years now.
Aside from the language, getting used to the food (I've always been a picky eater) was the most difficult thing for me. I recommend trying the kibbeling, vlaai, poffertjes, oliebollen (seasonal), and stroopwafels. Also give pannenkoeken, vla, and all of the wonderful cheeses a try!
It's a great little country with lots to offer in terms of culture and art! Enjoy!

Hi and welcome! I haven't been to that particular city but I know some people who have. I have a good friend who is living in a more rural part of NL right now. I have visited the country but not since she moved there. I'd love to sometime.
