Sorry, I know there have been an influx of make up threads.
I got some moola for my birthday, and I am thinking I want to add some make up tools and make up to my normal routine.
Here is a pic of the brushes I use. They were cheapies from Target:
I use the giant brush for powder foundation sometimes or to blend my eye make up. The third one over I usually use for the lighter colors (upper eye area) the second one from the left I use for my lid, the one furthest right I use for some color on the outer corners, and the small brush I use to line my eyes with a black powder (instead of normal liner).
I'm thinking I want to incorporate a brush to use for liquid foundation (I've been using a sponge).
I don't know if I should get any other brushes for eye make up?
I will never spend 30 dollars for one brush.
Here is a pic of me with no make up:
I am starting to notice bags under my eyes now/a darker pigment below my eyes. What is a good concealer for that?
Is expensive blush/highlighter/etc really worth paying more than the drug store stuff?
Also, I usually like how my make up looks to start the day, but by the end, it doesn't really hold up. I use liquid foundation and eye primer before putting on shadow, etc.
I feel like a make up moron. lol. I guess I am looking for a few tools/products that are 'must have' staples that aren't super expensive.
It is hard to see, but is the middle brush a blending brush? If not you definitely need a blending brush.
I personally love tarte blushes. They are worth it IMO. My fav is blissful, and I think that it would look very pretty on you. Yes, they are pricey, but they will last forever. I think blissful and exposed would be fabulous for you. Exposed is a nude color.
If your foundation isn't lasting, you need a primer. Do you use a face primer? There are tons of great products out there. WHat is your skin type?
Another thing to help last is a setting spray or a powder. I like to use all of the above. Primer, light powder to set and setting spray. No need to go overboard if you aren't used to wearing all of the make up.
Yes, you can totally find good products at the drugstore. My favorite drugstore products tend to be more lip and mascara related, but still you can find awesome products in all categories. I am just not an expert in drugstore. I have heard good things about nyx blushes, and I have a really pretty blush from sonia kashuk from target. I haven't used it yet though
As far as your under eye. I love maybelline illuminator to go under the eye on top of fake up by benefit. There are good drugstore concealers too, but I rec the illuminator above it.
I feel like my thoughts are so jumbled here. Sorry. lol

I usually still have to put a dot or 2 of concealer over it but you might not need to.
Thanks! Do you put this on after foundation or before?
I put on a BB cream (which, I was also going to say would work well for you b/c your skin doesn't need much help at all), that stuff and concealer, and then a light dusting of powder so it all stays.

My skin gets pretty shiny as the day goes on too. Oil blotting pads are such a lifesaver and can be picked up anywhere. It is way better than caking on more makeup and keeps you looking fresh. For what its worth I think department store makeups are a better quality and pigment-but its all about what works for your budget.

bonquiqui do you have any makeup books you recommend? I want to read something on better application technique.
I haven't really read any for technique, and I tend to learn this kind of thing better by watching. I seriously have watched so many hours of tutorials. Say for instance you want to learn about contouring. Go on youtube and search for contouring videos. It helps so so much.
Is there anything specific you are looking for? What techniques do you want to improve, and I will show you some good ones

I got my Rogue card today I'm pretty excited. I returned some things so picked up the Vice 2 palette, Dior lash plumping serum, Buxom glass set, Rockateur, UD pressed powder and the GlamGlow holiday set!
