Can you get a second Associates Degree if you already have one?
Currently, I have an Associates of Applied Sciences (Culinary Arts). I'd like to get my Associates in Business, can you do this? Will the general credits (English, Math, etc) from my Culinary degree transfer? I would be obtaining the second degree at a school different from the first.
I will be calling the school on Monday.
FWIW - the Business program is mostly online. I would obtain the degree and all credits/classes I take are meant to Transfer to another college for a Bachelors. I have several credits from a Private College which would transfer too. (I've been to a total of three colleges/universities. I took awhile to figure out what I wanted to do with my life). This way would cheaper than going directly to the Bachelors program at a University.
Of course you can get a 2nd degree! however, to your question about credits transferring- only the school you want to apply to can tell you this. Hopefully they will, though!

I figured it would depend - I just don't want to retake English 101, ya know?
I looked at their online cheat sheet so I know the credits transfer, I'm just not sure if they will transfer since they've already been applied to a degree, if that makes sense.
This sounds like a great plan. Especially if you have experience, a bachelors might not dp you any better than an associates. It also depends on what you want to do!
PPs are right. Only the school can tell you what can transfer. Theyll lokely review the course description of the old school and then decide.
I have to "goals" with the Business Associates:
1) Eventually open my own Cupcake business 2) Right now isn't the time to have my current job, which I don't like. I need to get out of the kitchen. I figure with a business administration degree I can find more of an 'office' job. Which is kinda what I want, more 9-5 and M-F type deal.
I actually did this same thing. I got an AAS in Medical Assisting. Job openings in the area were slow, so I decided to go back to finish the 5-6 classes I needed for an AA. I was at the same school, and it was only about a year between the end of one degree and the beginning of the second one. All the Gen Ed classes counted towards both degrees, and the degree-specific classes counted towards electives.
