I go give DS breathing treatments at lunch. He typically HATES them. I found out that if he can watch people while getting them he is 100% okay. As in he just sits there and doesn't make a peep or move. SO much easier. I found this out because yesterday at daycare they let me use an empty toddler room to give it to him and he was screaming his head off, but when a teacher came in the room he stopped. When the teacher left he screamed, and when he came back he stopped.
SO, today I gave him his treatment in his own room so he could see everyone and he was fine. It was easy. No screaming, no pinning down a screaming baby. Pure heaven.
But then the director told me I can't administer medication in the room wtih the other kids. I guess I get it for safety reasons. I am just frustrated because it is so much harder to give him the treatments when no one else is around and I feel like I can't keep holding teachers hostage so my kid has someone to stare at.

My phone is not capable of you tube ha ha. I am MM with my flip phone. But no we tried the TV/Computer at home. He could care less. It has to be a real life person. The window might work though. Maybe I could have him overlook the playground.
Ah - just read that it has to be a "real life person", lol.
Def try the window. That's annoying, but I understand. I had to be in a private room off of the nurse's office when I did breathing treatments at school as a kid. It was awful to be sitting there alone for 15-20 minutes with not even a window to look out.
DS doesn't care about anything except Baby Einstein. Well, now he'll look at other things, but Baby Einstein was interesting to him months before anything else counted.

Would they let you give his treatments in the office? At my dc there are never kids in the office but there is always a teacher or the director in there.

I'm sorry. DS would be okay doing them while watching TV - but I see your problem here. maybe the office is a good suggestion or somewhere there are people but not in the class?
