Trip to Belgium!

Our Thanksgiving plans fell through, so H and I found ourselves with an unexpected free 4-day weekend.   We decided on a trip to Belgium!   We'll drive to Dover, ferry to Calais, then drive to Bruges.  Stay in Bruges till Sunday morning, hit the Christmas market.  Contemplating a day trip to Ghent and/or Brussels.   Would love any suggestions on where to go, what to do, places to eat, etc :-)    Sadly no awesome Belgian beer for me, but I plan to make up for it with chocolate (and let H have my share of beer).

Sounds like a good trip. It would kill me to do it while pregnant - I love Belgian beers!! Chocolate is a good substitute...

Have you seen the film "In Bruges"? It has Colin Farrell in it. Kind of gangster film, but very funny. Anyway, it looks like a lovely town and in the film the 2 main characters have to lay low in the town do do site seeing.

That's my only suggestion to you. Enjoy the planning!!

Well this was a long time ago at this point but I hope you had a great trip!  I love living in Belgium and enjoy when people visit and I can give them lots of travel tips!  Hope you come back to enjoy our beer - it IS the best
