I was pretty bored throughout, as was DH. The only times it had any life were with Loki. The first one was surprisingly good, this one was surprisingly disappointing

I liked it! I thought Jane Foster was a big of a shrinking violet for the first half, but maybe I'm just overly critical of the whole damsel-in-distress thing. I think she picked up at the end. It had a lot of nice, humorous bits. Overall, though, the plot was a little WTF. I'm still not sure what the hell they did to defeat the bad guy or how they got the aether contained in the end.
I guess the final easter egg was to set up the Guardians of the Galaxy movie? It had a super-cheesy feel, not sure how that one is going to go.
So, did Loki kill both the guard who came to check The Dark World *and* Odin?
I'm glad Loki survived. I got fake-spoiled for his death...there's a gif going around where an interviewer mentions to Tom Hiddleston that it might be his last Marvel red carpet and he starts to tear up. I thought for sure Loki was truly dead!
I have to admit I had to look up who the Collector is and all that and yeah it looks like there was a lot of building for the Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I'm wondering too if Loki took out Odin or maybe he fell into that coma sleep again. They just need to give Loki his own film already:)

I have to say, the Internet has ruined me a little for Thor movies because now I'm a bigger fan of Loki than Thor! I liked the movie a lot, and I'm glad Loki survived. Although I hope he didn't kill his own dad, sheesh.

This, lol. I'm not usually a villain-lover but the internet has me fangirling over Tom Hiddleston. (heart) And I'm glad I read this thread and risked spoilers so I saw loonylunalovegood 's advice to stay until the very very end! We almost left after the mid-credits scene. My more comic-geeky friend was of the opinion that Thor should be using lightning way more instead of just his hammer. And H wanted to know why Odin didn't just waste everyone with his trident. But other than a little picking at it and poking fun, it was a decent superhero movie.
