It's a 2013 Mazda CX5 (bought May 2012). At 4k miles something funky happened with the transmission and the dealership kept it for 2 days and had to call Mazda corporate to figure out how to fix it.
Today on my way home from Kohls it did the same damn thing. It seemed like it wouldn't switch gears all a sudden. Just revved if I went past 20-25 mph. And the flat tire and traction control lights were on, but no issues with those 2 things. So I found a spot to pull over and turned it off and back on again. It worked ok the rest of the way home.
I hate this car with a passion. I did a 3 year/45k mile lease that's up May 2015. Any ideas on if I can get rid of it easily after it's fixed and trade in for a Toyota?

@truthbomb. Here's one reason, but there are many more-vibrating hood and side mirror, sucky headlights, doesn't want to start in the cold. Shitty cloth interior that stains if you look at it wrong...
And after two trips to the dealer, they could never replicate it and therefore never fix it.
Wow! I guess Mazdas aren't reliable like they used to be. My grandpa had a 626 with a ton of miles and no issues, years ago. Since it's on record that this happened last year, I'm hoping they can do something. Seems like a common problem according to a mazda message board I found.

I don't have a Mazda but my Jeep did this the year I purchased it. The car would just stop accelerating when I pushed the pedal down and only rev. Two times I had to take it in. The second time I threatened with the Lemon Law to both the sales rep who sold it and the dealer mechanic and suddenly it was miraculously fixed. I also threw in the threat of a lawsuit since both times occurred on busy highways and almost resulted in accidents.
