Also? My grades were, as usual, two days late, giving me approximately 3 hours to review the feedback and do a 4-hour drawing before midnight. Luckily, I gave up and did the final without feedback, and my grade will probably suffer for it.

There is a scale of 50 for practice, 100 for finals. There are categories (page usage, detail, proportions, etc) and you are graded on a scale of 10 for each, then it's totaled.

That is so weird that ea pic is graded!! I think we had assignments like 50 sketches by next week and then the sketchbook would be checked and given an overall grade, not so much pressure on ea sketch, and encourages practice rather than overworkin drawings to the point that it's just frustrating and too hard to fix errors. With a large assignment (which was a birch to crank out that kind of volume, btw), at least you could write one off and move on to the next and come back later w a clearer view.
We had bigger assignments, but those were different. And I think our live model, in class drawings were heavier grades than sketches and the prof gave a lot of feedback as you worked to develop skills.
Anyway I'm annoyed at the grading for you. It seems so subjective. I know, art is subjective, but still- that's just annoying.
We just had an art training a few weeks ago at school and had a big debate about assessing art. It's hard to assess (so subjective) and almost shouldn't be assessed , especially if you are a student of art.

it's really hard to assess, but valuable to do so. And people take the grades so PERSONALLY
