During my first pregnancy I never had heartburn. In fact, I don't think I've ever had heartburn period. Right now it feels like someone is standing on my chest and it hurts when I breathe in and out. Is that what heartburn feels like or should I be concerned that something else is wrong? I feel stupid calling my doctor over heartburn, but this hurts!

I hit the jackpot and I had peri-partum cardio myopathy – a pregnancy-induced form of congestive heart failure, that happens to about 1 in every 1,000 pregnant women.
If you're having trouble reclining (makes it harder to get air), that's when you need to get concerned. Rapid swelling, extreme shortness of breathe and a cough are also red flags.
If you're just having an ache in your heart, that's heartburn. A "stepping on the chest" might be worth inquiring about.
Geez macandchip, that's crazy. I hope it's nothing that serious. It does feel like what I would expect heartburn to feel like. I actually happen to have an appointment tomorrow with an u/s so if the nurses don't call back tonight I can bring it up with my ob first thing tomorrow.
On the flip side, DH gets massive heartburn when he eats something with red dye in it. Last time it happened he woke up in the middle of the night feeling like he was about to die. So it could be something simple like that. Better safe than sorry though.
