Arms and/or sock/calves? Do you like them? What are they useful for? I am training for a full (3/1/14) and I will be doing my runs this winter. It's not as cold here as it is for a lot of y'all. Most of my runs will be in the 30's and a few in the 40's and a few probably in the 20's. Do you use the compression socks just for after runs? Does it help you bounce back after runs? If you think I need them, what brand is your fav? Thanks ladies!

I just bought a pair a couple weeks ago and I can't believe the difference it makes with recovery. I wear them all day after long runs, but haven't slept in them yet.
ETA: I have Zensah brand. Just sleeves, not socks.

I find the sleeves really help with reducing calf cramping. During the summer I wear 2XU brand sleeves (lightweight spandex), but go with the full 2XU tights when the temps dip into the 40's.
CEP makes a good compression sleeve as well, but the fabric is heavier, so I use them mainly for recovery after races/long runs.
I have socks and I love them. I wear them for most runs and wear after for recovery. I do notice a difference in how fast I recover from long runs when I wear them during/after vs not wearing them.
I have SL3S and Pro compression. I like my SL3S better. Not really sure why, but I recover better from long runs in them vs PRO compression.
I love my socks, & use them for recovery after long runs. It's like a hug for my arches & calves. During the winter , I'll wear them all day with my boots. I have CEP brand.
I have socks from both CEP and Pro Compression, and love them. I wear them after long runs of more than 9-10 miles or speedwork sessions longer than 7 miles.
ETA: or at least, I did when I ran that long and did speedwork. Darn baby is messing with my ability to train for races It's a good thing he's cute.

Exactly the same for me. I must have asked this question to clseale a long time ago

I actually wore them Saturday in my first marathon after only previously wearing them after long runs. I know that was a little crazy to mess with a plan during a race but oh well. Mine are also CEP. Made a huge difference. After, my quads were sore but my calves felt great.

I have CEP socks. I wore them while running when I was recovering from a strained calf, and they made a huge difference. Now I just wear them after my long runs of 8+ miles. I can't sleep in them, though. They are really thick and make my feet too warm.

I have CEP socks and the thought of wearing them and how wonderful it will feel is sometimes the only thing that gets me through the last couple miles of a long run.

I have sleeves (ProCompression and Mizuno) that I wear for long runs. They help with calf and shin soreness and generally make me feel like my legs warm up a little quicker. I also have pro compression socks that I wear after long runs because they are comfy and like hugs for my legs. I love them.
I have a few pairs of compression socks. I mainly wear them for a few hours after long or particularly hard runs. I don't know that they necessarily 'do' anything for me except that they feel pretty good after long runs. I don't like to run with them on because I think it feels weird and the socks are kind of bulky in my shoes.
ETA: My favorites are the CW-X ones. My Zensah ones look prettier, but they always feel kind of itchy.
