I'm finally catching up on Doctor Who

Part 2 of Season 7, that is.

I don't have television service so I've been waiting and waiting for it to be available on Amazon Prime and it hasn't been, so finally I just said the hell with it and paid for it. I'd been a little ambivalent about watching it anyway, because as I've said here before I'm still not that crazy about Matt Smith, and then as a double whammy I've heard a lot of people say that they don't like Clara.

I'm on the 4th episode right now (the haunted house one, just watched Cold War) and so far I think it's awesome. As much as I liked the Ponds and was sad at the way that ended, I'm really liking these episodes too. And I DO like Clara. So there!

I don't hate Clara, but it is true that she's not as awesome as the Ponds. No one can replace them!

I'm in such a rage. Hulu had the first part of season 7, so i was stalking them for when the second half of season 7 would be posted. I FUCKING MISSED IT. They're all in my queue and expired! They must have only been up for a week! I'm so fucking pissed off.

Okay, finished it! And watched the mini-episode. Then I had to explain "eight and a half" to my husband, who's totally confused by the whole concept. (He watched Doctor Who in the eighties, but has only seen scattered episodes of the newer stuff.)

He's one of those annoying people who walks in the room in the middle of a movie he's never seen before and asks a million questions about what's going on. Somehow I married him anyway.

I like Clara in the Dalek Asylum episode, but I've had a hard time connecting with her as a companion. I have an irrational hatred for the leaf thing and that whole meet cute scene with her parents. I think it gets in the way of really liking her.

I miss the Ponds and River Song.
