Is there any speculation on what caused a good Jesus-loving town like Colorado Springs, home of Focus on the Family, to suffer a natural disaster?

Just curious what kind of stupid has come up in that arena.

So far I have two friends who have lost houses, and four families of friends who have lost houses in one of the fires. And my sister is currently trying to find a place to live in W Colo Spngs/Manitou/Woodland Park because of a new job. That just adds a whole other level to house-hunting.... does it still exist or is it in a current evacuation zone? She's supposed to be out of her current place in 3 weeks.

This summer sucks.
