It was okay. My boss made me get the whole "deluxe" thing and it was definitely interesting.
I like sitting with my feet in the tub and the massage part was awesome (although I did feel bad for my poor man with my hairy legs). They also put this minty stuff on and then wrapped my leg in a hot towel - totally down with that.
The part I didn't care for was the scrubbing (tickled) and the actual cutting. It's so stressful! I was just sitting there waiting for them to cut my toe (which didn't happen).
I also wasn't overly excited with the paint job - it looks good from far away, but up close I think I do just as good of a job. We'll see how long it lasts.
I'll probably go back once or twice when I really can't reach my feet, but I don't think I'll be regular pedi-goer.
...and I went for Cajun Shrimp - love the color! Thanks for the rec!
I don't love having a pedi either. I must have sensitive nails or something, but it always hurts when I get one! I haven't had one in about 2 years now--I just do my own nails.

I have the scrub as I was told "it's good for you!" and I ended up with red bumps on my legs. LUCKILY they went away before the wedding I attended that week.
I am with you. I hate the scrubbing because it really does tickle and its uncomfortable. Love the hot towel part though. I used to like the parafin wax dip but not sure if they do that anymore. That used to make my skin feel silky smooth! I just did my own pedi last night and I use a foot file for all scrubbing and when I do it myself it doesn't tickle. Also, I don't ask but I always have doubts about those pumice stones they use. I prefer they use a new one for me every time but I don't demand it. I can ignore it enough to go back again to get it done when I can afford to get myself pampered. But for true pampering experience, I would suggest going to a high end spa. They do it right for the amount they charge. LOL!

I love pedicures! Don't worry about your hairy legs, they actually don't want you to shave the morning of so the scrubs don't irritate your skin. You could always clip your own nails and then tell them that you just want them filed and polished. As for the bad polish job, go to someone else next time, the person you got probably is not good at their job.
i hate, hate, hate pedicures. i can deal w/ the massage part, hot towels, and a foot mask, but that is it. someone touching my toenails makes me want to climb the walls. blech.
I haaate pedicures. I actually hate feet in general. DH and DD both know not to touch my feet or put their feet near me, lest they witness my fiery burning foot hatred being physically acted out.

I'm not bothered by feet in general, but it was just kind strange.
I didn't get any kind of exfoliating scrub on my legs - just the cream stuff. The scrubbing I was talking about was on the feet with that tool thing and then the stone. Was great on the heels, but when they get you under the foot it tickles so freaking bad!
I must say that my heels are very soft though. Like that part!
I flippin love them... just got one done on my lunch break... an hour and a half of heaven! I feel like I need a cigarette now and I don't even smoke... anymore LOL

My only tip : bring your own polish! You can do your touch-ups and the pedi will last for 6+ weeks EASILY!
I actually have a funny story about pedis. Before a wedding once, I had a pedi and the lady was the personal manicurist of Martha Stewart. My feet are kind of busted from walking around barefoot and rock climbing. So I sit down in the chair, and the woman holds up my foot to the pedicurist next to her, makes a face, and says, "She doesn't. even. FILE!" Hah! My husband has made fun of my "country ass feet" ever since .

See I have this paranoia that when the nail techs are talking to each other in korean (the place I usually go is all korean ladies) that they're talking about my nasty crusty feet.
I'd DIE if they actually said something in english.
But I love pedis. Yes it tickles, but I don't care. I just turn on the massage chair and zone out.
Well no wonder the paint job looks crappy. You had a guy painting them. Duh! J/K. Kind of. I've never had a guy work on my feet ever. And I don't know about ya'll but it seems like my feet get calloused faster when I go in and get a pedicure. So I haven't gotten one in a long time.
I have only had a pro pedi done once, and a very expensive spa, and I thought I did a much better job myself. There was nothing relaxing/special/wonderful about it and it was not worth the money.
I am going on Sunday to get a pedicure with a friend. I can't wait!!!! I LOVE them!!!! We go to a place that puts paraffin wax on your feet. Oh it's heavenly.
My dh is a guy guy and he likes them, he loves when I drag him with me to go. These days though he doesn't get to go cause he has to watch the kids. He loves when I buy him a sports pedicure though I should buy him one soon, there's a place here that serves wine and martini's and gives you ipads to play with while you are getting your feet done.
