If your kid has a tablet

How many GB is it?  i think we might get a Kindle Fire for J's son.  He's 5.  Any thoughts/comments?

I'm not really big on kids having their own.

We have 3 tablets, but she can't use them without asking. Android has an app called Kid Mode that only allows her to use the apps we add and the age appropriate apps and videos that they change up from time to time. She can't buy anything through ads. When she clicks on an ad, it takes her back to the Kid Mode desktop.

One of our tablets is an iPad mini and I hate it. I got it as a gift from work (yeah, i know this is insane. I work for the best place ever), but I'm more convinced than ever that I'm just not an apple person. I can't find anything like Kid Mode for her and all the free games have a ton of ads or break or a million other things.

Oh, BUT...I might reconsider my no devices for kids that get online stance because of the Nabi. It does all the things Kid Mode does, but it's the entire tablet instead of just one app. I tried to play with one at Best Buy, but some kid wanted to play....gah....

We passed down DH's original iPad. He loaded movies, PBS kids, games, letters/reading games, and puzzles.
The iPad is DDs but we have rules as to when the ipad can/cannot be used.

She also inherited my 4 gen iTouch for FaceTime with family. She is almost 6.

Hmmm, I'll have to check out the Nabi. We are getting him some books, too! Lol.

It's the Nabi Jr. that's made like Kid Mode and I think it's the same price point as you were looking before.

This is good to know.  W rarely uses mine, but when we travel I have a few apps loaded for him.  Kid Mode would letting him use it a lot easier.
